The Versatile Blogger Award #2 + Telling my Dad about my Blog

and Hello friends! I’m REALLY sorry it’s been such a longtime, I’ve been trying my best to keep updated with Wordrpess, but writing a novel + schoolwork has been taking over slightly. I’ve really missed writing posts for you guys and it frustrates me so much that I don’t have enough time to post as frequently as I would like. However I’m back and today I’m going to be doing the Versatile Blogger Award, I’ve written nice things about my nominees too, just to make this post extra special.

I think The Versatile Blogger Award was my first blogging award EVER and I remember the amazing feeling I felt when I got nominated by LyfWithEm. And I still get that feeling, it just means so much that someone thinks my little site is any good. This time round, I got nominated by Aspiring Blue Cat and Okaay Then. Both blogs are AMAZING so please check them both out and spread the love.

Rules

  1. Thank the person that nominated you and include a link to their blog.
  2. Nominate at least 10 bloggers of your choice. When considering a fellow blogger for the Versatile Blogger Award, keep in mind the quality of their writing, the uniqueness of their subject matter and the level of love displayed on the virtual page.
  3. Link your nominees and let them know about their nomination.
  4. Share seven facts about yourself.

7 facts about me

  1. The only meal I can make is vegetable noodles. Yep, the New Year’s Resolution to ‘cook more’ is going very well, thanks for asking.
  2. I need to pee.
  3. I think I shared that fascinating fact last time I did this, wow.
  4. I’M WASTING THE FACTS OH NO THIS ISN’T EVEN A FACT AHHH
  5. I find it very difficult to think of facts about myself.
  6. Today I wore gold eye shadow and it looked pretty, but by the end of the day it all melted off my face which was great.
  7. I’m a vegetarian. Wow, that was actually a normal, controlled sentence.

My nominees

Here are some fantastic bloggers that you should most definitely follow if you’re not already.

Blogging Jess – Jess is so lovely and friendly, I could talk to her for hours! She does a mix of beauty and lifestyle posts with other random stuff. Their blog is so nicely written and it’s obvious they put a lot of effort into it. Jess definitely deserves more followers, so go and make her day!

Fibit – Fibit’s blog usually consists of updates on his life and often amusing ramblings and conversations. I love his blog and he’s also very friendly and a fantastic blogging friend! Show him some love over at his site.

The Ambivert Ambi’s blog is similar to mine in the way that she sort of talks about anything, but her posts are always really well written and very original (not so like mine). She was the creator of the 2015 Blogger Awards and also created the header for my blog! She’s very prevalent amongst the community and she’s just generally a lovely person, please check her out!

Flower in a rainy day I find this blog very positive and inspiring, the theme of the page is very beautiful and the posts are always very original. The girl behind the blog is lovely to and I think her blog can really go places.

Missamrunaway – I love this blog so much! I can’t stop reading her posts, so I probably come across as a little bit of a stalker!ย  She posts about beauty, lifestyle, fashion and whatever is on her mind. She posts very regularly, but each post looks like a huge amount of effort has gone into it and it really pays off! I love her personality too, she really makes me laugh.

Living in a World of Wonder – Roxy often writes about her life. I admire her very much and I love talking to her. You can tell she really cares about her blog and she deserves all the support and recognition she truly deserves. Please take a look at her wonderful blog.

Vengeance Wears Black – I’m so happy I discovered Shay’s blog! I always look forward to her posts. She writes about lots of interesting discussions and what’s on her mind, she also throws in a little creative writing. Her posts are really thoughtful and I just want everyone to see them. She’s such a huge part of the blogging community and I appreciate her so much.

Dziey – Dziey is a blogger which I admire very much. We started writing on WordPress at similar times, but she has become so so successful and I’m not surprised. Aside from being LOVELY, Dziey’s content is often fun and positive. She writes about a lot of different things so there is lots for everyone. She has a great sense of humour and I find her posts really engaging.

Fearlessly Loud Ruth is an amazing writer and I could only dream of having the talent she has. She also blogs about her opinions and thoughts and I’m always interested in reading them. Her site is so interesting and intelligent and I just want to stay there forever, we talk often and she’s so lovely and friendly. One of my favourite bloggers of all time, please check her out.

The Orang-Utan Librarian I love this book blog! The writer is such a lovely person and she has a fantastic taste in music, books, okay pretty much anything! Her reviews are seriously so amazing, but just the way she writes her blog and the originality of it is something I really admire. I want to give her 1000 nominations and more.

I’ll leave it at ten, because I could literally go on forever. There are SO many more bloggers I could have talked about and just because you’re not on there doesn’t mean I don’t LOVE your blog. I’m honored to know so many fantastic people and every single comment that I write on your blog I’ve thought about, because I care about what you’re writing. I consider so many of you real friends andย  right now I’m thinking about all the amazing bloggers I could have put on that list. That list is just a handful, an AMAZING handful, but I just want you guys to know that I really really appreciate you so much and I’m sorry if I haven’t told you that before!

*hugs*

Also, I told my Dad about my blog! It went really well and he says he’s really proud of what I’m doing. My real life and my life on the Internet are two separate things and it’s very strange when they intertwine, but my Dad is somebody I can trust and he really respects the bond we have, so he didn’t ask about what my blog is called. He’s not going to read my blog, but at least somebody in my family knows I’ve got schoolwork, novel writing and blogging going on.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I actually really enjoyed writing about all the amazing bloggers mentioned it really cheered me up.

Thank you so much for reading,

Alex

ps. If you don’t identify by the pronoun I’ve given you then please tell me in the comments or email me at theinternethotel@yahoo.com and I’ll edit my post, it’s really no trouble.

  1. Argh! I literally JUST finished a pronoun quiz and then I saw that last sentence! Haha, great timing Alex ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats for telling your Dad! My parents know about mine, but sometimes I wish they didn’t because they will often read it and I feel like I cannot post about some things because I don’t want them to see it.

    1. Only my Dad knows, I feel my mum would act differently if I told her, I was about to share my blog name, but Dad didn’t want to read it to protect my privacy, which I’m really glad about ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. thanks! There are dangerous people on the Internet, so don’t think they don’t exist, but we’re lucky to be surrounded by such a lovely community that these things don’t happen often, especially on wordpress. Just make your own mature judgments and never do anything you feel uncomfortable doing ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I emphasized how much of a positive thing it was, but luckily my Dad sort of understands what blogging is, so it was all good. I’d definitely think about it throughly and understand that they might not react the way you want initially, but then and again they might come around. You know your parents, so I can’t tell you what’s best, but I found that merging my Internet life and real life slightly has been real beneficial. At the end of the day, blogging is your choice (and you do a fantastic job anyway) they should be proud!

      1. Thank you so much for the advice – I definitely think it is important to share my blogging life with my parents, so I’m sure I will soon, but it might have to psyche myself up in order to do it. My parents don’t really understand the whole blogging thing (or the internet really) so I’ll have to be careful how I tell them! x

      2. My Mum’s a little like that, she doesn’t really know anything outside of facebook and hates the idea of me making friends on the Internet. It’s understandable when we’re constantly told of the very real dangers of meeting people online, but the Internet can be a wonderful place too ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I find listing facts about myself really hard too! I can never remember what I’ve already said, and I don’t know what people will find interesting, and ahh. I love your messages about all the bloggers you tagged, they were so sweet! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Alex, you and Ambi BOTH have original posts! It’s what makes your blogs so popular!
Your blog has long, yet fascinating posts that will draw you in, humor, light touches. You’re a kind person, warm and supportive, and maintain a great blog.
Not to mention you are a writer who should win the Nobel Prize in literature.
So basically that is all I have to say about that!
Oh, and I’m glad that your dad is so supportive of your blog. It was all well-written, so there’s an example right there.
    See ya!

  6. Hahaha your facts were literally funny!! And congratulations on telling your dad about your blog. My parents know about mine (and my blog name) but they haven’t read it yet! I would never tell my friends (or other family members) about it because I am afraid of what they would think and the fact that someone I know reads my blog frightens me.. Does your friends know about your blog?
